Fisher vs. Hunter: Who really has the players’ interests at heart?

I have always liked Derek Fisher, even when he played for the evil Lakers.  Now that he’s a Thunder, I can wholeheartedly root for him.  He’s an Arkansas boy.  Seems like a stand-up guy — at least there’s never been any scandal around him, on or off the court.  He seemed like the only grown-up in the room during the NBA lockout.  He might be the only reason we’re having an NBA season.

However, being a sensible union leader may be his fatal flaw.  If he had made more ridiculous demands, if he had used more inflammatory rhetoric, and (more importantly) if he would just look the other way while the union boss enriches all of his kids at the union’s expense, maybe he would still have the backing of the player’s union executive committee.
